Trying to get back into the habit of going out and shooting. But the turn over time might take longer.

These are done on my digital SLR. Although I hate shooting digitally I need results now and don’t have the funds for a 4x5 or 8x10 camera. Plus I want/ need to practice lighting.

As a kid I was terribly afraid of the dark. Now I’m not really afraid of the dark, but what my mind conjures is there. Here is another part from my story ( rough rough draft don’t mind the wording please”

For some time he floated along the shore until he was quickly turned left towards the trees. He was being led right into the entrance of the jungle forest and it was very dark. ” Oh no, Oh no, Oh no” Edmund began to panic. The dark was something he did not like. “I can’t do it, I can’t. It’s too dark.” Edmund said to no one in particular with tears in his eyes.

“Yes you can.” Said a voice that sounded just like his mom. “Edmund, look at me.” Edmund turned his tear stained face in the direction of the voice, which seemed to be coming from the sky. And it was the star drawing of his mother that was talking to him.
Mommmmy,” Edmund stammered, ‘Is that you?”
“More or less, but Edmund you must be brave. You have to face your fears to overcome this. I believe in you.”
“But I’m scared, it’s so dark. Can you come with me?”
The star drawing sighed, “No Edmund, how I wish I could but it is your mission. Here, take this.” The drawing moved to take a star from where her heart would be. It reached out to Edmund just as he reached out to her. Edmund reached to grab the star. It was small but bright. “Stick it on your helmet. Use it as a reminder that I am always with you, so you can be brave. I love you.”
“I love you mommy,” Edmund said but the drawing was no longer animated. Edmund stuck the star to his helmet. And with a new found courage he thought of Him, turned toward the jungle forest and floated in.”

The setting of this scene was drawn from this bamboo forest in Hawaii. The entrance (not shown) was a dark whole in the landscape and was really creepy to go in to because the bamboo was so dense it blocked the light. Imagine being 7 and having to walk in to that alone.
